SUMMARY:Entry Event: Mock Election Night
DESCRIPTION:CCPA’s 11th and 12th-grade students will kick off their first project of the year. \nChallenge: Host a Mock Election Night for families and members of the community to answer the following Essential Question: What strategies and resources can we use to become an informed and educated voter who makes thoughtful and responsible decisions in elections? \nStudents will create a mock Voter Guide that includes their stance on a candidate or proposition based on research conducted on the candidate or proposition. Students will then be expected to host a Mock Election night where they will present their guides and stances to attendees demonstrating their knowledge in answering the Essential Question.

DESCRIPTION:CCPA’s 9th and 10th-grade students begin their first project of the year. \nChallenge: Construct a raised bed with vegetables and other plants to answer the following Essential Question:  How can raised bed gardens be used to promote community engagement\, environmental stewardship\, and food security? \nStudents will explore the development of our food system and evaluate perspectives on its current state. They will address food needs by designing and constructing raised garden beds. Additionally\, students will create a website for their own restaurant\, including menus and a restaurant history\, based on the produce they choose to grow in their garden beds.
